Ear Community is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers a warm and supportive community for individuals who were born with Microtia (missing or underdeveloped ears) and Aural Atresia (absent or underdeveloped ear canals resulting in hearing loss). ASLdeafined offers 3 areas, or groups, of lessons, depending on your specific interest: (1) For those who wish to learn sign language because of a personal interest, (2) for parents of Deaf children, and (3) for Deaf individuals, desiring to strengthen both their ASL and English skills, collectively.
ASLdeafined contains over 300 themed lessons, regardless of what group you select. You can choose your group preference from the 3 listed above, that best fits your need. The yearly fee is $12 for educational users, and for personal users, $36.00 a year. The APP is included in both subscription prices.
ASL at Home is an innovative, family-centered curriculum designed to support families with young deaf children and the professionals who assist them. The second edition comprises 12 chapters, each focusing on common daily routines such as mealtime, bath time, and book sharing, facilitating practical language learning. The curriculum includes custom illustrations, videos featuring deaf language models, and direct links to a wealth of resources, enhancing both expressive and receptive language skills. Growing Peace Community Enrichment Programs offers high-quality after-school care and enrichment activities for children in grades 1-5, emphasizing the arts and community involvement. Activities include dance and movement workshops, strategy and board games, creative arts and crafts, and peace and mindfulness exercises. Seasonal day camps, such as Spring Break and Summer Camps, are also available, offering flexible scheduling options to accommodate families' needs.
