Every year we roll out the cones and the music for our Bike/Trike-A-Thon—a joyful LT tradition where kids bring bikes, trikes, or scooters to ride laps, build confidence, and cheer on friends. It’s one of our students’ favorite weeks of the year, and it also helps us raise funds for any summer updates and improvements around the school. Helmets required—and lots of high-fives encouraged!
We say goodbye to summer island-style—music up, dancing shoes on, and lots of tropical vibes. Kids can rock bright tees or a lei (totally optional), make simple crafts, and watch quick, kid-friendly videos that introduce Hawaiʻi’s culture. It’s easy, happy, and the perfect aloha to summer!
Our festive, family-friendly tradition brings everyone together for holiday crafts, local vendors, and community resource tables—plus special performances by Ms. Ariel’s Dance Class and our preschoolers signing songs. The highlight? A magical visit from Signing Santa for smiles, photos, and holiday cheer!
Our vision is to bridge the gap between the Deaf and hearing communities by bringing Black ASL to the world through music enjoyment. We provide education (Deaf Education consultation) to all. Our focus areas are: layers of being marginalized, navigating microaggressions, miscommunication and stereotypes, and BlackDeaf education. We aspire to break barriers by learning, encouraging, rebuilding confidence, and celebrating each other’s languages.
Every May, The Learning Tree Preschool hosts our annual Open House Art Showcase. This year marked our 46th annual celebration!
This special evening gives families a chance to visit the classrooms, enjoy children’s artwork, celebrate the school year, and look back on all the memories we made together through a slideshow.
It is one of our favorite traditions and a beautiful way to honor the creativity, growth, and joy of our students each year.
Throughout the year, The Learning Tree Preschool and Growing Peace Enrichment proudly host a variety of community events that bring families, educators, and local organizations together.
From literacy celebrations and art showcases to cultural events, ASL-inclusive activities, family nights, holiday gatherings, and community partnerships, our campus is always filled with connection, creativity, and joy.
We believe schools should be more than classrooms — they should be places where families build community, children feel included, and everyone is welcome to learn, play, and grow together.
